Sufian Abulohom

Sufian Abulohom is an independent Yemeni filmmaker living in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Sana’a, Yemen and moved to Falls Church, Virginia when he was 15 years old. He received his BA in Film and Media from American University 17’ and is currently getting his MFA in Film Production at the University of Southern California 20’.

After graduation, Sufian went on to shoot a documentary with the support of the UNHCR about Yemeni refugees living in a refugee camp. His documentary, Yemen: The Silent War went on to be screened in over 15 countries and won at the Impact Doc Award.

Currently, Sufian is filming two documentary thesis at USC tilted “Immigrant at Home” & “The Dragon Blood Island”.

Being one of few Yemeni filmmakers in the world, Sufian aspires to humanize and shed light on Yemeni stories.
